Brijesh Singh is an accomplished IPS officer with outstanding academic credentials and a wealth of experience in the field of cyber security and Law Enforcement. He is currently working as Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister of Maharashtra. Previouslay he has worked as Additional Director General of Police in Maharashtra, and also held the responsibility of Maharashtra Cyber, a unit looking after the cyber security of the Government of Maharashtra.
He has successfully lead the implementation of MH Cyber Project, CERT MH and Predictive Policing units, and has spearheaded the modernisation of the Information & Public-Relation Directorate with projects such as Media and Social-Media Analysis Centre and state-of-the-art recording studio.
He has also implemented the Automated Multi-Modal Biometric Identification System (AMBIS) initiative in India, where IRIS, Face recognition, Finger and Palm prints are used for identification of crimes in Maharashtra State. The Maharashtra Cyber Digital Crime Unit (MCDCU), a government-industry anti-piracy collaboration led by him, has successfully taken down more than 400 pirate-websites and issued critical advisories.
He is a renowned author and tech thought leader, having penned a thriller "Quantum Siege" for Penguin books and his recent book “Dangerous Minds of India” has been well received. He is the recipient of the DG’s Insignia Maharashtra 2016 award and has been awarded with DG’s insignia by the National Police Academy for outstanding contribution to training of IPS officers. He has aslo been accorded several national and international honours for his contributions to the field of cyber security.
He regularly appears on Parliament TV and other national channels as an expert on cybersecurity and digital rights, and writes opinion columns in reputed newspapers.
