Mr. Vinit Goenka is the Secretary, Centre for Knowledge Sovereignty (CKS), a leading think tank in the policy space. He is also a Member of the Programme Committee, Gandhi Smriti and Darshan Samiti, Ministry of Culture, Government of India.

He is also a former Spokesperson, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) – Delhi Pradesh, a Former Member, Governing Council, Centre for Railway Information Systems, Ministry of Railways, Former National Co-Convener, Information Technology Cell, Bharatiya Janata Party, Former Member, IT Taskforce, Ministries of Shipping, Road Transport & Highways. He is also the author of the books “Data Sovereignty: The Pursuit of Supremacy”; and “Enemies Within” that was published in English and Hindi.

After working in several leading positions in the corporate world, he ventured into politics and the social sector. He has initiated various constructive endeavors for the welfare and development of India and society at large. Notable initiatives include advocating for Data Sovereignty for India through CKS, launching the initiative AIMIT for the development of IT MSMEs, and spearheading campaigns such as #ITforParivahan for IT initiatives in Transportation, #IT4Rail for IT initiatives in railways, #IT4Commerce, and #IT4MHRD.

He has served as a Member of the Governing Council of the Centre for Railway Information System for nearly 7 years. Additionally, he was appointed as a Member of the IT Task Force in the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways and Shipping. In these roles, he collaborates with Union Ministers on nationwide IT initiatives aimed at achieving the mission of ‘Minimum Government Maximum Governance,’ championed by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi.

Mr. Goenka holds a Master’s degree from the University of Mumbai. He is also a well-known television panellist, serving as a spokesperson and expert speaker on various platforms.
